Snack Suggestions for Meets
FUELING TITAN RUNNERS
Please read the information below for ideas about what to bring for snacks. It’s especially important that the families work out how to pick up the equipment from the Saturday meet and keep it until the next meet. If you follow the bus to the meet, you can hopefully park close to the Titans tent and get some of the runners to help you carry everything. There are two wagons provided to make it easy to transport the tables and coolers. At the end of the meet, help the next week's family pack everything up.
List of items to transport:
2 folding tables
2 wagons
2 large drink jugs/coolers
Snack bin *check the container after you pick up so you know what to replenish:
Extra non-perishables
small paper cups
roll of paper towels
trash bags
a disposable table cloth
Snacks
Water and ice go in one 5 gallon drink cooler and Gatorade and ice in the other. Use powdered Gatorade (enough for 5 gallons). We will need enough additional water (bring 5-7 extra one gallon water jugs) to fill the cooler at least once more at the meet.
Bagels cut in fourths, granola bars, cereal bars, animal crackers, peanut butter crackers, etc.
Fruit ideas: bananas (about 15), quartered oranges (about 15-20), grapes, etc.
Nothing that will melt in the heat, please! There should be enough snacks for each runner to have 2 items, plus some fruit. We have 67 runners on the team!
Pack a smaller cooler with extra ice for injuries, etc.
THERE SHOULD BE ENOUGH SNACKS FOR EACH RUNNER TO HAVE 2 ITEMS PLUS SOME FRUIT. WE HAVE APPROXIMATELY 70 RUNNERS AT EACH MEET, PLUS 3 COACHES.
Important: Snacks & Drinks for the overnight trip should be items that can easily fit on the bus; drinks should be water and Gatorade bottles and snacks should be granola bars, crackers, etc.
Thank you for volunteering to help the team! Please contact Russell Beane at aubeaner@gmail.com - if you have any questions or need additional information.
